1. James Hagens, Boston College, F (pictured)
Hagens has been the elite player in the 2006 age group for years now. A dynamic center with comprable skill and production while at the NTDP to Jack Hughes (NJ) enters Boston College for his draft year. The early favorite to be the number on overall selection.
2. Porter Martone, Brampton, F
A late-birth, like Hagens, is a big-bodied forward with incredible offensive skill and hockey sense. A thirty-goal scorer in his second year in OHL, captained the Canadian Gretzky-Hlinka team who was only out -scored by Hagens and Gavin McKenna (projected 2026 #1).
3. Matt Schaefer, Erie, D
Possibly the top defensive prospect in this draft; tall with a long reach. Excellent skater and developing offensive skill to be very good in the offensive zone and in transition. The type of player that has a high ceiling and floor. Starting the regular season battling mono will be just a temporary setback.
